In recent years audiovisual communication has come to occupy an enormous presence in almost all aspects of our everyday lives. Today the world converses with sounds and images and through these we are able to acquire information, communicate and work.
The audiovisual sector therefore forms an essential part of our daily lives. With this in mind and in an effort to respond to the prevailing environment, the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya has run a degree course in Audiovisual Communication for a number of years now which has a distinctly international focus. On one hand, there is a strong emphasis on learning foreign languages, particularly English, and, on the other, students have the possibility of participating in exchanges with foreign universities.
In addition, the UIC offers some of the most advanced technological equipment available in Catalonia, including a 120 m² satellite dish, 5 AVID editing rooms and a radio station. This ensures that each subject area has a strong practical focus to provide our students with a solid career footing that will serve them well following graduation.
"The Audiovisual Communications Degree Programme allowed me to take advantage and learn tremendously from sophisticated facilities like the set, the production studio and the editing rooms. Both the courses and the workshops have a markedly international character because the professors are foreign. The UIC also maintains a large network of professional contacts at American and European universities, and has a great number of collaborative agreements with institutions that have allowed me to get in touch with major players in today’s audiovisual sector."
