The insurance sector in Catalunya undoubtedly represents one of the most substantial business fields; around 25% of all insurance operations nationwide take place in Catalunya, and countless top-ranking insurance companies are based in Barcelona.
The sector is also technically sophisticated. Insurance companies need experts in risk management, control, and the development of financial planning. Distribution is another basic area in which knowing the different models, and the key elements of each one, is key. In addition, it is one of the most rigorously regulated sectors, so familiarity with legal aspects of the business can be very important in the development of new skills.
In light of the convergence of European boards of directors, insurance companies need to adopt new management habits, meet new requirements, carefully study techniques and forms of management, control, company output, and the necessary rate of return.
