Presentation

Today, one of the most interesting ways of generating new knowledge is finding and forming connections between various established disciplines. In the academic world, narrow areas of focus and a vast array of specialised fields has produced issues and questions that can only be addressed from a broad and balanced interdisciplinary perspective.

The Master’s Degree in Human, Social and Legal Sciences offers students a solid fund of knowledge on which to base their doctoral theses in the field of Humanities, Legal and Security Sciences, Economics and Business, Communication or Education.

The primary objective of this programme is to introduce students to research methods and provide extensive and thorough training. The course contents transcend the boundaries that have traditionally been used to distinguish social, historical, political and economic studies, and looks more closely at the interdependence and resonant connections between these different disciplines, analysing and explaining them from a holistic and humanistic perspective.

What makes this programme particularly unique are the methodological tools it provides for research in six different specialty fields: Humanities, Legal Sciences, Criminology, Business, Communication and Education.

The programme consists of several core classes, designed to provide training in research tools common to all academic disciplines, as well as an optional module of courses pertaining to each area of specialty. Once students have completed all Master’s coursework, they may begin their doctoral thesis in any of the six abovementioned specialties.
