The Faculty of Humanities, along with the Faculty of Health Sciences, is the biggest at this University. It is made up of the departments of Humanities, Educational Sciences and Communication Sciences, all of which offer Bachelor's degree courses alongside Postgraduate, Doctorate and continuing education programmes.
The broad range of studies provided by this faculty allows students to combine a variety of interdependent fields, such as journalism, history, audiovisual communication, art and literature and the humanities and education.
The importance of this faculty is demonstrated by its role as a central pillar for all the university studies, through its provision of fundamental subjects such as Social and Political Thought, Anthropology and Ethics, which cut across all the degree courses offered by the University.
At the same time, the Faculty of Humanities acts as both a focal point for many cultural events held at the UIC, and a source of attraction for students, from both campuses, who seek to complement their studies with modules offered by this faculty.
