Around 700 students attended the traditional Welcome Session for new UIC students held on Thursday, 25 September 2007. Two sessions were held for the first time: one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Among the UIC's new students are those in the first year of the new medical programme.
The new official Master's programme in Clinical, Legal and Forensic Psychopathology was launched on Friday, 19 September 2008. This programme, which is adapted to the Bologna Process, is designed for criminalists and other members of the legal profession and meets current market demands in this field.
The UIC has opened a new 4-storey library on the Barcelona campus featuring over 2 kilometres of shelf space and 250 reading places.
