Research

As well as the individual research carried out by each of our professors, the faculty promotes three areas of collective research which cover many disciplines:

  • Human and citizen rights: the challenge in protecting fundamental human rights is all the more important when confronted with such phenomena as mass immigration. A careful study of the normative texts reveals the need to carry out an in-depth analysis of fundamental rights in connection with the concept of citizenship.

  • Public and private law institutions: this is a line of research which covers different areas of public and private law, such as civil law, constitutional law, administrative law and international law. It is aimed at improving students’ knowledge of the central institutions and key figures in these areas, looking at a range of diverse, contemporary issues, such as the Second Rome Convention.

  • Family law: recent changes in family law have been so dramatic that they demand a thorough reconsideration of the legal approach to issues as diverse as the protection of the elderly, family education and upbringing and matrimonial pacts and their preservation.
