The UIC offered the practical lab class "What Kind of Research Goes on in a Microbiology Lab?" to a group of students at Cardenal Spínola School. The aim of the initiative is to make students in secondary and vocational-training school aware of everyday science.
Art-therapy, interpretation of children's drawings, emotional intelligence, introduction to the opera and the practice of Seitai are just a few of the UIC's proposals for July and September for students and professionals interested in acquiring new knowledge.
On Friday, 14 March 2008, the UIC Rector, Dr. Josep Argemí, and Dr. Albert Balaguer of the Centre for Bioethics Research and Studies attended the laying of the first stone of the new Fundació Althaia Hospital in Manresa, where the Medical Teaching Unit will be located.
The students attended a session on nursing in Spain taught by Dr. Adela Zabalegui, director of nursing and the official Master's Degree Programme in Nursing Sciences.
"El Postgrado de Emergencias de la UIC me ha ofrecido un punto de vista global de la realidad en las emergencias hoy en día. Se ha convertido en una base imprescindible que me ha permitido introducirme en el mundo de la atención extrahospitalaria. Un extraordinario punto de partida para una carrera profesional en la que nunca dejas de aprender y de sorprenderte."
