Mons. Javier Echevarría, en la clausura del Congreso Internacional de la Familia de la UIC

El Obispo Prelado del Opus Dei ha impartido este mediodía la conferencia final del Congreso Internacional sobre Familia y Sociedad. En el congreso, que ha sido posteriormente clausurado por el rector de la UIC, Dr. Josep Argemí, han participado durante tres días unos 50 expertos de renombre internacional.

El rector de la UIC, Josep Argemí, acompañado de José Ribeiro e Castro, vicepresidente del Intergrupo de Familia e Infancia del Parlamento Europeo, inauguraron oficialmente ayer por la tarde el Congreso Internacional Sobre Familia y Sociedad. En total participan medio centenar de expertos hasta mañana sábado y se han inscrito unas 300 personas.

Spain is the EU country that earmarks the fewest resources for the family

Spain earmarks 0.7% of its GDP for the family, a figure that places it behind all the other countries in the European Union, according to Raul Sánchez, the director of the International Congress on Family and Society, which is organized by the UIC and was inaugurated on Wednesday afternoon, 14 May 2008, International Family Day.

Fifty experts will participate in the International Congress on Family and Society, to start on Thursday, 15 May 2008

The Congress will be the main event of the UIC's 10th anniversary celebrations and will include an exclusive screening at noon on Thursday, 15 May, of the documentary Demographic Winter: The Decline of the Human Family, in which international experts analyse worldwide demographic data.

ESARQ School of Architecture designs the Citizens' Initiative Pavilion at the International Expo in Zaragoza

Architect and ESARQ School of Architecture professor Ignasi Pérez Arnal won the public request for bids to design this sustainable pavilion at the 2008 International Expo in Zaragoza. It is shaped like a Spanish botijo or drinking vessel and made of straw, clay and bamboo.
