The goal of the Clinical Internship in Periodontics is to train professional dentists and stomatologists by adding to their theoretical knowledge and helping them to improve their diagnosis and treatment of pathologies associated with periodontics and with general dentistry.
The programme consists of a theoretical unit with classes in basic science and clinical topics in Periodontics, presentation of clinical cases in Periodontics as well as cases involving other specialty areas in dentistry. The practical component includes clinical treatment of periodontal patients and the performance of surgical treatment to control periodontal disease, when necessary.
This year-long course meets once a week for 40 weeks. Students will occasionally be asked to attend sessions not scheduled within the course’s regular meeting times. Assistance is mandatory.
