Presentation

Undergraduate degree programmes in Dentistry generally include coursework in oral medical-surgical pathology. The basic surgical knowledge imparted at the undergraduate level can prepare future dentists for performing surgical procedures, but ultimately, lack of practise, loss of basic surgical knowledge, fear of facing surgical situations, and general lack of interest in surgery can deter dentists from incorporating surgical methods into their professional practises.

The basic training imparted in the Bachelor’s programme is not enough to prepare dentists to calmly and effectively handle surgical situations; these skills slowly fade when they are not regularly practised. This Master’s course is designed to reinforce and broaden recent graduates’ surgical knowledge in order to help them face these situations competently and successfully.

To carry out effective surgical practises, dentists need profound knowledge and thorough training in clinical and surgical dentistry.
