Research projects
- Project 1: Regulation of the cellular cycle by the Yeast HOG1 MAP kinase.
The SAP kinases regulate a great number of cellular processes, among
which the adaptation to stress and apoptosis are of particular importance.
Recently, different groups have also related them to the control of the
cellular cycle. This project aims to study the molecular mechanisms through
which cellular stress, by way of the SAPKs, regulate the mitosis processes.
- Project 2: Molecular detection
strategies for periodontal pathologies.
The ethiology of a periodontal pathology is complex and is determined by
the presence of periodontal pathologies and their relation to the patient’s
immune system.
Due to its anaerobic nature, it is difficult to detect the presence of
these pathologies. This project is intended to establish techniques for
molecular determination of the different bacterial species present in
periodontal patients.
