This course takes students beyond the purely informational and managerial aspects of sports journalism in its written and audiovisual forms. The UIC programme knows that success in Sports Journalism depends on having both professional rigor and a good perspective.
Through this postgraduate course, the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya offers students a solid foundation on which to enhance their professional skills through an interdisciplinary approach.
To achieve this goal, the programme incorporates pertinent academic material from various disciplines: law (concerning the legal framework of sports competition, retransmission and image rights, international federations and organisations, the Bosman law, etc.); economics (in order to better understand phenomena like merchandising, sports marketing, player and athletic associations representatives); as well as key elements in the field of medicine, such as sports psychology, physiotherapy, anatomy or drug abuse.
"While working on the FC Barcelona website, I felt that completing a Postgraduate Programme would help me specialise in my area of interest and learn how to turn it into my full-time job. New and high quality materials really enhanced the practical coursework. Personally, the balance in this Postgraduate Programme has been ideal."
