Presentation

The study of Criminology in all its theoretical and practical aspects, including the different disciplines which relate to crime (anthropology, biology, ethics, psychology, victimology, deontology, sociology, history, law, economics, philosophy, etc.) is of essential interest and importance to individuals and institutions involved in this field.

This degree course is considered to provide a good foundation in the study of crime and social control by all branches of the criminal justice system, including the police force, penitentiary institutions, and the social welfare system.

The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya helps to shape and form professional criminologists by providing a sound theoretical foundation and a high proportion of practical classes.

The degree course consists of a well-integrated, dynamic and modern syllabus in terms of both methodology and content. There is also a high level of personalised teaching provided by dedicated professionals, a career centre and the possibility of extending the degree to work alongside a team of well-qualified postgraduates.

The course also allows students to combine their studies with professional commitments or a dual degree programme. In these cases, the course is based on a weekly tutorial session in small groups and individual work to be done at home.

Experiences

Núria Bru

"By studying law at the UIC, I hoped to enter into the professional world and continue to broaden my knowledge. The semi-online Bachelor’s in Criminology course gave me that opportunity. Because both my professors and my classmates were professionals in the sector, I got to know more about the various career options this degree programme offered, and I was able to design a professional future that fit my own skills and abilities."
