</title><description><![CDATA[ <a href='http://www.unica.edu/en/news?id_noti=1258'><img src='http://www.uic.es/progs/obj.uic?id=488d9344db180' align='left' /></a>Rafael Pich-Aguilera died on Saturday, 26 July 2008, at the age of 80. The recipient of a UIC Honorary Degree, Pich-Aguilera will be remembered as the father of family development at the world level and for the part he played in the creation of the UIC. ]]>

</title><description><![CDATA[ <a href='http://www.unica.edu/en/news?id_noti=1252'><img src='http://www.uic.es/progs/obj.uic?id=487c76e0bb9f7' align='left' /></a>In the coming academic year, the UIC will offer a Master's programme in Family Therapy, which will be the first official programme dealing with this speciality in Spain. The aim of this course, which is designed for psychologists and doctors, is to help give support and counselling to families that are going through difficult times or that are unable to settle conflicts by themselves. ]]>

</title><description><![CDATA[ <a href='http://www.unica.edu/en/news?id_noti=1243'><img src='http://www.uic.es/progs/obj.uic?id=482d619669ef7' align='left' /></a>Sophia Aguirre, professor of Economics at the Catholic University (Washington, DC), participated in the International Congress on Family and Society that was held at the UIC in May 2008. She was one of the participants in the documentary Demographic Winter: The Decline of the Human Family, which was screened at the Congress for the first time in Europe. An extract of the interview published in the latest edition of Newsuic is given below. ]]>
